Hello!
Sounds like y'all had a great time with Chelsea and Kyle in town. It is nice that y'all got to spend some time with them and treated Kyle to the full Hemet experience. Chels, did you go to the Ramona Bowl? ;)
We had another pretty uneventful week this week. Sister Raddigan got sick so we were inside for a day or so. Being stuck inside all day in the worst thing, I don't know how I did it in college. I guess moving from class to class mixed it up a bit.
We had a Relief Society activity this week which was really fun. I love getting together with the sisters in the branch! We talked about meal planning and prep. Something I really needed to hear. It's like you forget how to cook out here or something. I was sitting there wondering how I even survived 2 years on my own! Momma, if you want to add yourself or me to the Texas City Branch Relief Society page you can. You will see pictures and other things that will keep you in the loop!
We also got to help set up for the Halloween Party! The party was on Friday and it went really well. We couldn't do a Trunk or Treat because it is a shared parking lot so we just stuck inside and played games. I seriously love those people so much. We are just a giant family. It feels like the 2nd ward! A even stopped by the party! He didn't show up to church but it is one stop closer. He actually entered the building!
On Sunday we were invited to participate in the Stake Primary Musical Fireside. We sang Called to Serve and the Army of Helaman with them. The fireside was filled with the sweetest spirit. A little 3-year-old in our branch invited her friend to come with her. It was the cutest thing seeing all these primary kids doing missionary work!
J (35) is doing well. We were able to see him twice this week. His hours at the plant keep changing and it is really hard to catch him at home and awake! A (27) is doing well also. Meeting with him is a struggle because his girlfriend doesn't like him talking to us. We are tying to get her to listen in as well but we haven't had much luck so far. We are in great need to build our teaching pool. Finding is the hardest part in this town. No one is ever outside! We make it work, though. The weather is finally nice (like 75 with a breeze nice!), so hopefully more people will be out before it gets too cold.
Sorry it is another short one this week. Feel free to ask me more in depth questions about the area or anything else. I would love to answer what I can :)
I just wanted to close by saying that I know that this is the only true and living church of Jesus Christ. The doctrine that Christ taught is the only way back to our Heavenly Father. We must rely on the power of the Atonement to overcome the stumbling blocks in our lives. God is there and He is listening. Read from the scriptures daily. They are the word of God and teach us of the Great plan of Redemption that we all must follow to gain eternal life and happiness. Learn of the Spirit. It speaks to you and you will open up a marvelous tool that will guide and bless your life. Heavenly Father loves us and is aware of each of us.
I love you and I pray for you daily :) Have a great week!
Love always,
Sister Greaves
