OK so I don't even know where to begin! I feel like i have been here for a month not a week! We learn and do so much everyday. To answer questions. Life is weird on the other side of the counter. I food is still not that good but we eat it anyway. Sundays are just normal days for us really minus Sacrament and RS. We got to an MTC wide RS in the morning and then have sacrament meeting about 4 hours later with just the 13 of us. It is small and a little odd but still fun. We all must prepare talks and then the President tells us who is speaking after we partake of the sacrament. Gets the nerves going a bit.I was in the clear though. Our Sunday devo was Elder Allen (head of the missionary department I believe). Then on Tuesday Elder Nelson spoke to us! It was awesome. He taught us how to better use our resources in the field.
So a basic day goes as follows:
6:30 Arise
7-8 study
8 breakfast
8:30 gym
9:30 -1 morning class
1 lunch
1:30 -4:30 afternoon class
4:45- 5:30 additional study --or teaching investigators.
6 Dinner
6:30-9:30 Night class
10:30 bed.
Yep you counted right. 9 hours of class then 2-3 hours of study. It is definitely a learning environment. My knowledge of the scriptures grows daily....even hourly! It is incredible what the Spirit can reveal to you. Our investigators name is Gabby. Her husband is a member but she is Catholic and wants to know more about the church. We teach her everyday but she has no desire to become a Mormon. It is so hard to be answering all her questions well and then have her just say this is not for me. We really enjoy our time with her though. She is a believer and a great person. I wish we got to see her through but on Sat we will hand her over to other missionaries before we leave.
Oh picture. So do the third one or the closer of the standing pictures. If that makes sense....
I head to Houston on Tuesday at 9:30 with 2 spanish sisters and 2 spanish elders as well as the 2 elders in my district. We have to report at 4:30am....except for me. My companions report at 3:30am so I will be up and out with them. It is going to be great. My mission president wrote me and told us about our first night in town and I am excited :) Even more so now that I know who I will be staying with! Hopefully you sent the card here and not to Houston because that will be no good. haha if not its all good.
My district is wonderful. 3 of us are from the IE (Hemet, Palm Springs and Menifee) The others from Utah and one from Seattle. We got to go on a walk around the temple on Sunday. I have pictures but I cannot attach them from this computer so I guess those will have to wait. We are doing a session this afternoon which I am so happy for! I am also getting my haircut finally haha. Yes I have gotten all the mail as well as some from Chels and Morgan. The only thing that is hard about the MTC is the campus is set up so you cannot see the outside world at all. You live in a cage. Trees line the edges and all the walkways are covered. I know it is for protection from the elements but still you barely see the sun. I am excited to finally be outside again.
I am running out of time but I will write a little more if I have time later. I will also try and write another letter today. The church is so true! The power that comes from the Atonement of Jesus Christ changes our lives daily if we allow it to and we MUST allow it to!
I love and miss you :)
I am glad all is well at home!
Love always,
Sister Greaves
