This week has been an interesting one for sure. That Texas rain everyone keeps talking about. It finally came around this week. All week. And whenever is rains here that means thunder and lightning and no biking. So we are trapped in the house all day. It was a very slow week for sure. I also was sick all week. I have a feeling those events are very connected. Finally we thought we were good to go out so Sister Calton and I hopped on our bikes and heading for the gate. It started to rain a little so I stopped to put my scriptures in a plastic bag (thanks for the tip Trav!) While I was doing that we also checked the phone. We got a tornado warning. Great. We luckily were still in our apartment complex parking lot. The gate wouldn't trigger to let us out. I guess the Lord was helping us out there. If the gate had triggered we would have biked with out checking the phone and would have been at least a few miles from home with the storm hit. And boy did it hit. We sat in our apartment and the storm raged on outside. Like seriously it was nuts. Thunder and lighting and dumping rain and wind. I am so glad we were not outside. There was not a tornado but still. One thing I have come to love about the Gulf Coast is how windy it is. It is so windy all day and it makes biking against it extremely difficult. I guess there must be opposition in all things. It must be hilarious to see us biking against the wind. We don't go very fast.
Because of the rain we were not able to see many people this week. We were able to teach C and a few less actives. We were not able to teach S! We did teach this lady named DA for the first time this week. I am excited to see her again because I think she will really enjoy the message we share and the gospel we live. She is so nice and loves to see us. Our district is really trying to focus on the members in the next little while. We are in serious need of their help so we must first gain their trust.
At church on Sunday we had a emergency preparedness lesson thing. Best thing that was said though was "We live in Texas, own a truck!" Oh I love the branch. It is a place where long hair and boot are welcomed and encouraged.
OK, so Mom, I would like to hear your full conversion story. How is came to be and your thoughts as an investigator. I don't think I have ever heard the whole thing which is terrible so I would love to know. You can do it letter form or email form it doesn't matter to me. Dad, send me mission stories whenever you feel like it. I also cannot believe I have never talk to you about them before.
I hope moving goes well this week. I wish I could be there to help. Send me pictures of the new house when you get there! I would love to see it. I am going to stop promising a letter because it probably wont happen anytime soon! I will write as much as I can. I love and miss you all!
