Hey!
I am glad to hear y'all had such a great time in Utah. We had a wonderful
week here in Seabrook as well. I am starting to learn the area, slowly but
surely. I need to step it up, though. I only have 2 more weeks to learn it
well enough to take it over. Sister Hawkes and I are getting along very
well. We have a really good time together...sometimes maybe a little too
much fun. Haha but I am grateful! She is someone I really needed to be
with, even if it is just for a month. I love working with her and I am
going to sad to see her go! But we are thinking about that right now!
On a happier note! I officially survived the first 6 months of my mission!
This week we spent a lot of time trying to contact less actives that don't
meet with us often. We faced a bit of rejection but nothing too bad. The
rest of the week was really fun, though! We spent time helping members set
up their Christmas lights and getting ready for the holidays. I love how
much the people love missionaries! I already feel like I am at home here.
We spent Thanksgiving with the Mace and Barnard families. We had so much
fun eating and talking. We talked about all of the crazy traditions our
families have and just talked about good memories. It was wonderful!
We visited a few other families as well so we were plenty busy!
This week I have had food from Japan, El Salvador, and Mexico! We learned
how to make papusas! We failed, but it was still a lot of fun and they
tasted really good!
On Friday we met a man that Sis. Hawkes' brother lived with while he lived
in Clear Lake. He had us over and we ate dinner with his family. They were
so cool and we became immediate friends. Unfortunately they live out of our
area so we wont be able to teach them :( Oh well, the missionaries in Clear
Lake are awesome, too!
J is progressing quickly and should be able to get baptized this
Saturday! He is already really good friends with all the youth and seeing
him at church just makes us so happy! Also a returning less active named
J is getting ready to go to the temple. YAY! We are being blessed to
witness all these miracles with people in our area.
I love you!
