Well not much happened this week since so little time passed since I last wrote you. On Wednesday we went to the Texas City Museum. This little town has so much history and it was fun to see it all in order. We got to watch the video of the explosion that leveled the town about 70 years ago. A woman that was going through with us was there that day and she described it as a two day war zone. It was very reverencing to hear what people have to say about it. There are many people here that were young when it happened so we get to hear first hand accounts.
We also went to lunch--and got food poisoning! Guess we didn't pray hard enough ahaha. We just took a 30 minute nap and went on with our day.
On Saturday a member hosted a caramel apple party and invited people over so we invited A--and he CAME! He said he really enjoyed the people he talked to and said he would try and come to church, but he was on duty that night and he was kept out on calls till 3 am. There is always next week!
On Sunday we were finally back at the branch. It had been too long since we had seen all the members so it was nice to get back into the groove. After church J had us over for a BBQ. It was delicious! We were having a great lesson with him until his friend came over. We ended up giving the friend a Book of Mormon so not all was lost.
We are looking forward to this week. We're back to a normal schedule with normal meetings. We haven't had district meeting in a month! It is no wonder the work is slowing down. It will be nice to sit down with the Elders again and really get the revelation flowing. I am so grateful to be here in Texas City.
I actually took pictures this week and of course the computer I am on does not have a card reader! I will try and snag one that does when we finish our 30 minutes at another place...
Looks like she never got around to finishing this...I did hear from her again in a private email, so she didn't just disappear! Guess we will see those pictures next time. -Melanie
