Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! I meant to send you a card but I totally spaced last week! I am glad you both had a day to relax! I celebrated your anniversary with my first baptism! YAY! The 15 year old we were working with got baptized! His name is J and from day one he has just been awesome! On his first Sunday he recognized most of the youth from school and fit right in!
It was a great day. He had his friend J baptized him and it was J's first baptism, too, so it was a really special day for both families! Talking with him after him baptism and confirmation was such a joy! He was just beaming and all he could say is, "I'm speechless". He said he felt outstanding and tingly! You could just tell he was giddy with excitement... and so were we!
I am so grateful Heavenly Father blessed me with the opportunity to work with him. The last 2 weeks have taught me so much.
We had Zone Conference on Tuesday which is always a Spiritual powerhouse. We learned how to better consecrate ourselves to the Lord. A mission truly opens your eyes to the things that we need to change in our lives to be better followers of our Savior. We also learned about how to have a more productive weekly planning session.
We also helped make some treats for a Christmas party for some kiddos in our ward. (Pictured below) I love being a missionary during the holidays because people have you over all the time to decorate and party! Seriously It is awesome.
And the Christmas Devo was awesome right?! We watched it at a members home with a less active family. It is amazing how much good we can do with one small act. Most people feel the Spirit of Christ this time of year so it is very easy to do missionary work! We are blessed to be able to aid in this work!
Our apartment is giving us a lot of grief. It is all tile so it gets really dirty and cold like all the time. Plus the sink doesn't drain well and we have a leak coming from the apartment above us. It resulted in part of our ceiling coming in above the tub. Yea, it has been an adventure. Oh and we lost power in our bedroom and bathroom for like 4 days. Our landlord is a trip. Oh well! All part of the mission experience. We are only there for a few hours a day so we get by!
I love you!
