Well not much to report on this week. So sorry this is going to be a short one. Transfers are this week but Sister Bird and I are staying together here in Seabrook. We are getting a new Elder in the ward though and 2 new elders and 1 Sister in the Zone. I am excited to get to know some more people. I haven't left the Bay area so I only meet people if they come here. Who knows if I will ever leave the Coast. But I am not complaining, I love it here. I love that I have been right on the water for my whole mission. Heavenly Father knows I love the ocean way too much. Some days it is my only source of happiness. Nothing beats driving over the Kemah bridge :)
We spent a lot of time with the young women this week. We are helping a less active girl feel more comfortable there plus, who doesn't like the yw! Making chocolates with them on Saturday was SO fun and I am glad the ladies in the ward sent you pictures. We had a great time! It made me miss all the good times I had as a youth. Man, those really were the good ole days ha! But being a young adult is pretty great too! Whoa trunkie there for a second sorry! ha
We taught seminary again this week and we had Bunco night with the Relief Society. We just had a lot of time this week to get to know the members. Our investigators were not really available to us this week so we had to make up the time elsewhere. We even got to do some family history!
On Saturday night we helped a member with her catering event. It took me back to the time when I used to help out at people's wedding randomly. Who knows why I ever started doing that?!
The Bacliff Elders (the elders in our ward) had a baptism on Saturday for a boy named D! He is 11 and had been trying to get baptized since he was 8. His father was not letting him but finally we was able to! The Spirit was so strong in the service and you can tell that boy had to fight off Satan for 3 years to get there. I have never seen a young child with such a strong testimony! It was awesome!
I just LOVE the members here and I am grateful that I am finally getting the time to get to know them. We have a really amazing ward! The more time I spend with them, and hear their stories, I come to love them even more. So many people have lived incredible lives and have experiences both good and bad. My testimony is strengthened every day as I work with the people here. I have been so blessed with an amazing and pretty easy life. I am learning to not take a single thing for granted. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and is aware of everything. He places events and people in our paths for a reason and it is so nice to see His hand so abundantly in my life!
I love you!
Have a great week!
