Hello!
So the way things work out this week...we had a baptism. We and the Elders tag teamed and taught a young woman named X. She in the great niece of the S's. We had a wonderful service for her and her whole family came. She even invited some friends. That is her and all the missionaries that taught her below.
We had a specialized zone training this week as well. We learned about the connection between sacrifice, grace and obedience. I wish I could explain to you over email all the things that I learn. Most of it can't be explained anyway. Learning by the Spirit is all about what you feel! It is incredible. We received some trainings of how to better OYM and tract. We also learned how to better work with the members. As a result we got a referral! She is a single mom and we are planning to meet with her this week in her member friend's home. As we teach the lessons to all that we meet with the Spirit is going to be there. When the Spirit is there they can think of friends and family that are ready to hear the gospel message. It WORKS! I have seen it. I challenge all of you to think of who you can reach out to this week and then act upon that prompting. With the member we were talking with she said that she had been thinking of that friend for months and didn't think to act but now she did and she is being blessed :)
Another miracle we saw came through a media referral. We had been praying about how we could use family history to find someone. It hadn't been working until about 4 days ago! We got a referral for a couple that had a phone number attached so we called. It turned out to be a member of the mission presidency in Tallahassee Florida. He said his cousin just visited and while she was there they began talking about genealogy. He invited the missionaries over and they were taught during their visit. We got the referral before they even got home to Texas. Unfortunately they got sick and we won't be able to see them for a few more days. But we are excited to work with them. God really is aware of our desires to use the tools we have been given. The answer just didn't come in a way we expected.
We spent a bit of time with J and R this week. I love them to death. Seriously. When we are with them the Spirit is so strong and we always have a good time. R got to go to the temple to do baptisms for the first time. I wish we could of gone but the Spirit just lingered with her. I am so proud of the steps they have taking in the past 6 months to come back to the gospel. Now they are reaching out to the others that are struggling and helping them back.
We had a powerhouse lesson with J and M about sacrifice. They committed to making more time for God. They didn't come to church which was a bummer but we hope that they are taking the 5-10 mins a day to read and pray.
We got to do yard work this week! Oh it was so satisfying! I have missed it. Is that crazy?! But I haven't done a good amount of yard work in over 3 years. So it was nice to do some service and get my hands dirty. We are also helping a few people move this week. That I am very used to!
Well I guess that sums it up for the week. We are doing well down here on the coast. It is a bit chilly today but with friends in Wisconsin and Minnesota I can't complain too much ;)
I love you all! Have a fabulous week!
