Wow I have a ton to say and very little time. THANK YOU to all for the birthday wishes! I was able to spend my birthday with two of my favorite families out here. We did a few hours of service as well. I honestly forgot it was my birthday by the end of the day that's how busy we were which was awesome. A less active and his wife made me breakfast for dinner to end the day. I feel so blessed to be able to spend my birthday out here with the love and support of so many dear friends.
This week was a crazy one. I am not sure if I told you or not but last Sunday we also attended a non denominational church in Galveston. It was nuts. It was basically a concert. It was a unique experience for sure. All I wanted to do was get up and bear my testimony!
So I got my new trainee. Her name is Sister Raddigan and she is from Sacramento CA. At transfers we also found out that we have to move apartments! Thankfully we just switched with the Elders so moving went fast. We were packed and moved in an hour. It was the most intense thing I have ever done. It was hard because we can't be in the apt at the same time as the Elders so everything had to be done in turns. But we made it in by 9:30 so all was well. It is weird just living with my companion but we have gotten used to it.
It rained almost all week this week. So out we went anyway. It was nice though because when it rains it isn't as humid and the temperature drops. We just had to hop off the bikes and seek shelter when the lightning started. Luckily it really only got bad at night. On Saturday night the plants had a hazardous chemical leak. Thankfully it was at 2 am because no alerts went out like they normally do. Oh how I love the plant life. They were able to have it contained by 5 am so we were able to go to church. It only made a few people sick so we got lucky this time around.
We have seen so many miracles this week which is a blessing. In answer to many of our prayers we had yet another new couple move in. They feed us multiple times a week and are willing to come teaching with us whenever they can. They have opened their home completely to us. I already have so much love for that little family! We have been able to come into contact with 3 less actives this week as well. Finding people to teach is still slow going but we been blessed with a few appointments this week.
One cool story... We met and talked with the mother of John Lee Hancock. He is the writer and director of movies like Saving Mr. Banks and The Blind Side. Yea no big deal. She was the nicest lady and was so willing to talk with us. The people we meet. Also on beaches here you can find the best shells ever! Like big ones. An investigator of ours showed us her HUGE collection! She likes to give us some of them so I will send some of the ones I have gotten home to y'all to add to your collection. They are really beautiful.
I am so happy to be out here doing the Lord's work. It is incredible the things we are allowed to witness when we do all that we can and do His will.
I love you!
