Hola!
So this week it rained. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...yeah, pretty much all week. We had flash flood warnings for 2 days. We only got caught in it once which was nice though. But we were drenched! Like ringing my clothes out drenched. It was awesome!
This week we had quarterly interviews with President. It was nice being able to talk with him in person for the first time in over a month. We always go last, though, and sitting inside for 4 hours just waiting is killer when you are used to being out and moving all day everyday.
This week we did rescue visits and had a relief society activity. We made wooden blocks with the temple on it. I will send you a picture of it next week. We had close to 30 women show up to the activity which was incredible! I walked in and thought it must have been a ward activity! It was awesome being able to sit and talk with the sisters who haven't been in awhile.
Oh, DAD! You would be so proud of the things I am eating! I ate venison and greens this week! It made me miss green drinks! haha
We have the best new investigator. His name is J and he is from Mexico. Thank goodness for my previous Spanish companion. haha It was a miracle we even met him. We were standing in front of the branch building waiting for a member to take us to an appointment. She called and said she was going to be a little late so we called the lady we were going to see to tell her we would be late. Well, the lady cancelled on us so we were trying to figure out where we could go with the member. Soon after a man drove by, so we waved and he circled back around and stopped in front of us. He said, "Are you a Christian church?" We said yes and he asked when our services were. He said he wasn't going to stop but since we waved he figured he would at least stop and say hello. He also said he has been looking for a good church for about a year. He stopped drinking and all that and he is trying to get his life back in order. We asked if we could come by and teach him the following night. That we did. He made us dinner and even brought a friend to listen, too. He and his friend both came to church on Sunday and loved it! He even participated in all the lessons! It was the greatest miracle!
Sunday was also the first Texas City Branch Conference! Yay! It was a wonderful meeting!
Also, good news, we have a dinner appointment every day this week! First time this has ever happened in this area. And mama we have a car, too, so we drive to church and all.
It really was an awesome week and this week should be even better!
I love you all and I am grateful for all you do!
Love always,
Sister Greaves
