Hello everyone!
This week we were able to witness so many miracles! We found 6 new
investigators. That is unheard of in this area! It was such a blessings and
I am so grateful to be here in a time when God is hastening the work in
this area. We even had one come to church and he was well fellowshipped by
the branch. One of the recent converts even invited him to dinner at his
place. We are so blessed to have an amazing little branch. I never want
to leave this place!
OK so quick answers...I still haven't gotten any of the packages. We don't
get mail again until probably Sept 16 when we go to interviews with
President. But maybe one will appear this week! I am happy because now I
get to celebrate my birthday throughout the month aha! We do have all the
detectors in our apartment. We also had to deal with bed bugs this week. NO
FUN! Turns out they were all over our old apartment so we had to deep clean
to make sure they didn't follow us over. They didn't thank goodness and I
am glad the Elders got to deal with the main problem. Sorry Elders. Also
there has been a mosquito infestation this week in the city. Awesome. Bug
spray did us no good. I will attach pictures of my diseased legs. Not to
worry my bites have all healed now. So now we hope this week will be
better! We haven't had too much rain this week so that should help.
We got to spend an evening with Ms. S Hancock. She gave us a tour of her
house and all the memories that she has. She has been in Texas City since
the 40's and her and her family have so much to do with it's history. Her
late husband is honored in the Texas City Hall of Fame. She was here during
the great explosion that happened in 1947 that destroyed most of the town.
And she has watched it be rebuilt. She let us borrow her Texas City History
book so we are going site seeing today with it. There is so much history in
this little town and I have come to love it even more. She also let us look
through all of her son's movie stuff. John has written a lot of stuff for
the city and I attached a picture of one of his pages which includes a
picture of his family. Those stairs they are sitting on, I've been on
them, no big deal. It was a great getting to know her.
Our week was pretty quiet so there isn't much to report. I sent
y'all a letter last week so you should get it soon. Last night President
Ashton did a missionary fireside for the League City stake and we were able
to go to that with the S's. Seriously love that family. She came out
teaching with us and she is on top of it. Also, the parents of the Relief
Society President were in town and they were just released as Mission
president and wife in Washington. It was so nice talking with them after
church. You could just feel their love for missionary work which was such
a good feeling.
Well I guess that is it! Have an awesome week.... I love you!
