Hello! I am officially headed into my final week of the transfer. Can you believe I am hitting my 3 month mark this week as well! Where does time go?! I am glad that you and dad are adjusting well into the new ward. I am so happy that you get to work with the young women! I know that my young women's leaders always meant so much to me so I am glad that you will have a chance to play a wonderful role in those girl's lives.
We were blessed with another wonderful week! On Monday night when we were biking around Moses Lake we were able to watch a storm off in the distance. We went into a lesson and when we came out it was no longer raining but the heat lighting was incredible. The pictures I took are attached. Oh by the way. I cut my hair last week. I was sick of it so I had Sis. Wilson take about 4-5 inches off. I will take a pic of it sometime this week and send it on.
On Wednesday we got a call from the Sister I replaced here in Texas City. She goes home this week and in her Exit interview President told her that L ( a girl who is afraid of water ) can be baptized before she leaves. We received confirmation that this was true so we headed over to her place and asked her to be baptized this weekend and she said yes!
She has tried twice before but her fear of going under the water has always overpowered her desire. We knew that the faith and prayers in her behalf were going to make it better this time around so we were excited for Saturday to come. We kept the service small and private to make it as comfortable to as possible. We got to the actual ordinance and she broke down. Long story short after 2+ hours in the font and three people in the water with her she got out and went home. We are still trying to figure out what went wrong that day and I hope that our faith can soon be sufficient and we can do all the Lord wants us to do in order to help her make that promise with our Heavenly Father. She is a very special little girl and I cannot wait to see her be baptized and then see their family go to the temple to be sealed. Through this experience I have come to see how much love Heavenly Father has for all of His children and he is with us every step of the way. He wants to help us overcome out fears and trials.
Well that pretty much sums up my week. We are prepping for a crazy week this week as we finish the transfer and help prepare the two sisters to go home. It is going to be a rough one for sure. I never thought I would have met my mission best friend so early on and have to save goodbye so soon. Yeah, it's going to be an emotional week.
I love you all so much!
