Familia!
Dad I am so glad you got to hang out with Uncle David a few times and got to go to an Angel's game. I am jealous! That is one thing I wish we did before I left. Tell Hayley and Chelsea that I am sorry for the lack of communication with them directly. I just need their addresses! also Chels thanks for the package, it totally made my night :)
So to answer the questions. We share a car with the sisters we live with. We use to go to meetings and church. Other than that, we bike. It is not as hard as I thought to get around in a skirt. I just have to wear things that are loose so I tend to wear the same few skirts but that's just how it goes. I save all my nice stuff for sundays and p-days. Our bikes are really nice...and they need to be, the roads are too great here in Texas City. No thunderstorms yet, just a little rain. I am kinda sad about that but I have a long summer ahead of me. My apartment is awesome. I am getting good at killing roaches. I am not even scared of bugs anymore! One of the sisters that lives with me is from Fiji, Sister Susu. She is hilarious and keeps things fresh in our place. The other sister is Sister Wilson. She is from Spanish Fork. Her brother is marrying Becca Allred... whoever told her about me (I am guessing it is Chelsea.) My companions name is Sister Calton. She is from Lehi Utah. She has a little sister. (I'm not sure what y'all want to know about her.)
We have had a rough week in our little Texas City. Our entire district is struggling to find people who are ready to be taught and have an enduring conversion. But we talk to everyone so we are going to find those that are ready. For all those who read this and are members. Help the missionaries in any way that you can. If they ask you to get involved do it! It is not only a huge blessing for them and the investigator but for you as well. I know our work is being slowed because we don't have the member force that the other areas have. It is no excuse but still. I invite all of you to go out with the missionaries in your area and ask them how you can help. They will be so happy.
A good moment this week happened as we were riding home one night. We pass a boy on a bike and say hello. A few minutes later I hear someone behind me yell ".....church?" I knew he had to be talking to us. The boy recognized us from the library and had been wanting to talk to us! It was so cool! That night we road only about 2 blocks but in that hour we talked and taught four people. They all have dropped us since then but it felt good to know we put in the effort. We were supposed to have a baptism on Sunday but he cancelled last minute. So sad. We hope we can talk with him this week and get things sorted out.
Did I tell you all about my first day here I went out to teach? If not let me know it was the coolest 20 mins I've had.
The other day we went over with the sisters to one of their investigators homes. They had 5 little puppies running around and I was in Heaven! One's name was Roxie. It was the best!
I had my first Kolachi (I am not sure how to spell it.) But they are wonderful. Best thing I have eaten here so far. But I cook for myself so that isn't a hard thing to beat.
I am doing great and I am happy here in Texas City. I am still adjusting but that will take sometime. I love you all.
Have a wonderful week :)
