Hey everyone!
It has been another HOT week here in Houston. I am really looking forward to the fall when it comes around again in...October or so.
My new companion is Sister Schumacher from Scappoose Oregon. Best town ever! She is cool too. I really like her. She has been out 9 months. We are a lot alike in the fact that sometimes really stupid things just some out of our mouths. We laugh all day it seems which is great. Laughter makes the work easier. We get along really well and I am just loving it. I am excited for our at least 6 weeks together!
We were blessed with another wonderful week. On my last day with Sister Moreno we were able to see N and G and teach them one last time together. We also stopped by a few members homes so she could say goodbye. It felt like it wasn't real. We were together for so long it didn't seem right to split us up. We got to transfers and everyone was like "Finally one of you is getting transferred." We were a dream team. No on can deny that.
We were able to teach a lot of lessons this week as well.
Later in the week last week we met a guy named G.T. He was a media referral but when we got there he looked super confused. After some digging we figured out that he is best friends with a member in the Houston 4 ward who is on his mission. The Elder's father died a few weeks ago and when he came home for the funeral he invited G to come as well and asked if he could send the missionaries over. G is awesome and we can meet with him a few times a week. He is enjoying his reading in the BoM and came to church with us. He is praying about baptism! We are thinking about handing him over to the YSA Elders though. We don't think he will thrive in the Alief Ward just because he is 20 and everyone else is the ward is old or married. It will be hard...especially just after loosing F but we have to do what is best for him.
N is still doing well. I love her so much and being with her is the best part of any day. She has great desires to follow God and I can feel the Spirit touching her. We also met a family from Kenya and taught them the Restoration. The son is moving to a new area tomorrow so there goes that. But his sister S is also interested so we are going to start moving forward with her and hopefully her parents.
The best part of the week was there was a baptism! I don't know if I told y'all about them but back in April we got a referral from some Elders in the Monterrey West mission. They rent out their home to the missionaries there! We met them on their first day on America. Of course they speak Spanish so we had to pass them but we were able to see them every week at church. Oh their names are D and R.H. I love them so much and I was thrilled when they invited me to their baptism.
Well I have to get going but I love y'all soooo much!
Have a good week!
